I manage a bar in the US. I spent the early morning hours crying myself to sleep and woke up a few hours later to text my staff saying that we'd be shuttering the bar indefinitely. Our jobs are gone, but I also don't want to put anyone in danger. People are still going out in public. I know this isn't infosec related but it is security related. How's everyone elses week going?

@woland We're going to get through this together. Shit looks pretty grim, but none of us exist alone. We may feel alone now, but we all have each other.

@Anarkat Thanks for that. It was a difficult decision but I know it was the right one. State government will probably shut it all down soon anyway.

@woland pandemic plans only really work for the big boys, I’m sorry you are dealing with this.

@TheGibson Thanks. On the plus side I have more time to do security related projects.

@woland I can’t imagine how tough that was, but it was the responsible thing to do. I start a new job this week - same company, fortunately still work from home. But, the world feels very apocalyptic. I look forward to getting back to normal.

@jerry Me too. Good luck with the new position. Maybe this is the kick in the ass I need to start applying to SOCs

@woland a BIG hat tip for shutting down ahead of the regulations. ❤️

@woland I have so much respect for you and I hate that you are the person that will be hit by this situation. You are not alone I'm sure it will end well.

@citizen_brown I'm lucky enough to have savings so I can deal with this for a few months. I'm more worried about the people who live paycheck to paycheck.

@woland Difficult times for the whole world. That's why it is so important to help each other. My local Indian restaurant is not allowed to have customers, but they can still deliver food. I think I should order something to keep them going.

@woland i spent a lot of time (2-3 days a week) at a beer and wine bar. and 1-2 at a hard liquor bar my favorite server from the beer and wine serves at. i am so fucking worried for them. so goddamn worried. revelry is still open, as is the library, but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa what happens when its more severe in SFL? what happens when every other bar closes? my step bro had o'shea's close on him when he came down specifically to work there for st paddies.

@woland im so goddamn scared for my service/hospitality friends right now. so scared.

@ComradeEevee I'm hoping the government will offer some relief. Unemployment usually doesn't include tips as income, so we're going to have a bunch of adults who were working full time and making money receiving minimum wage. And everyone knows that's not enough.
