What are your favorite over-the-ear headphones? I've had a pair of Audio-Technicas for years that just cracked a bit.
Thinking of replacing them with seems to be the current version of them: Audio-Technica ATH-M40x https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HVLUR54/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 or the M50x
I don't like the Sony MDR-7506s-- they've always felt a bit too fragile to me. What do you like?
@schlink I have the ATH-R70x and if your situation allows for open back headphones, they are absolutely amazing. I probably spend more of my day with them on than off.
