You know how browsers will usually let you resize <textarea>s so that you have more space to type?

Turns out you can limit that behaviour to only work in the vertical direction so that it doesn't break your page layout. Just add "resize: vertical;" to your style sheet.

@stringlytyped I wish I could be enthusiastic, but I'd rather someone break the page layout than not be able to type comfortably.

@varx Agree 100%. My thought is that "resize: none;" should probably never be used (unless you've made the textarea grow automatically as the user types), while "resize: vertical;" should only be used in cases where the textarea is sufficiently wide.

@stringlytyped okay but what about the REAL banger here - you can do this to any element, not just textareas
