I review VPNs and I genuinely believe that they are a valuable tool and that most vendors are acting in good faith.
The atmosphere surrounding this industry, however, is extremely toxic.

@maxeddy The other thing I've noticed recently is security nihilists in the infosec community arguing against using commercial VPNs altogether, generally by dismissing users' realistic threat models in favor of their own unrealistic ones. Which, to be fair, the marketing from VPN companies also does.

@gcupc This is a huge issue. I am definitely sympathetic to the really intelligent researchers and anti-capitalists in the security community. But at the end of the day people want something that will actually work for them.

@maxeddy @gcupc 100% agree. Majority of people want something that works and gives them that warm fuzzy feeling.
