Jigsaw (read: Google-adjacent) has an internet toxicity dial that uses machine learning to identify hateful or abusive comments.
It's a cool idea! But I dislike that the idea of trying to solve a societal ill with technology. This could be the piece of fixing our world, but it's not the solution.

This means it's using the same poisoned data as the "Perspectives API" and they're just confusing everyone with names, right?

That's been exactly my mantra for twenty years when I'm wearing my product development hat:

You do not solve societal, political or cultural issues with technical solutions.

I've always rejected any requirements pointing in that direction and continue to do so.
