This is great info for someone in this audience though, and this guy is doing a great job explaining it non-technically.

he just got interesting... AI OSINT gathering was a weird left turn.

@m4iler @thegibson Yeah, but a cat is almost a dog. It's a small dog that meows. If you view AI in light of creativity instead of logic, they're already smarter than most of us. They have intuition.

When you tell a joke, you're making a jump in reference frames.

AI doesn't have the same reference frame as us, so their output looks like a joke to us, but they're actually right in their own way.

Who says a cat isn't the same as a dog? They're very similar.

@m4iler @thegibson When I look at AI, I'm bloody frightened because it's doing art.

@m4iler @thegibson The text reads "This is not a pipe".

It's a picture of a pipe, a piece of paper resembling a pipe.

That's the kind of change in reference frame I refer to, in a way.

@m4iler @TheGibson that doesn’t mean AI won’t take over the world. It just means that the process will likely be less pleasant as AI misidentifies us and puts us into the wrong cages.

@jerry @m4iler@infosec.exchange @thegibson Obviously, you've never been stuffed in a hamster cage.

It's not comfortable.

@genericperson @TheGibson Don’t worry. it won’t bother the new AI overlords all that much.

@m4iler @TheGibson Captioned for the unseeing: angry woman yelling at cat meme, with woman captioned as "People with no idea about AI saying it will take over the world" and cat captioned as "my neural network", surrounded by a frame suggesting the neural network identified the cat as a dog.
