Remembering Har Gobind Khorana on his birth anniversary.

He won the 1968 Nobel Prize for Medicine/Physiology along with his colleagues from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Marshall W. Nirenberg and Robert W. Holley.

I love watching security talks by Germans speaking English because they’re generally missing a few language strength cues so they can talk normally then go “in FUCKING plain text” in Very Angry Voice and then continue with a calm tone

just a reminder: it's good to keep informed about world events but it's not healthy to stay in a heightened anxious state for prolonged periods of time

if you can take moments to relax, distract yourself, find something to laugh about, etc., that's actually good and important too

Watch | "I don't fear government or police... but a mad man on the street can do anything to you and that puts the fear in us... because they have literally armed everyone, saying, 'Because you are with Modi, you are a patriot and soldier of the country'": Anurag Kashyap to NDTV

The lawyer who, pro bono, got me out of jail and got my charges commuted, who has stood up to ICE and DHS numerous times, organized antizionist jewsh community spaces, and so much more; just been diagnosed with breast cancer and can't afford treatment.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to her GoFundMe and spread this around.

"Domain analyzer takes a domain name and finds information about it, such as DNS servers, mail servers, IP addresses, mails on Google, SPF information, etc. After all the information is stored and organized it scans the ports of every IP found using nmap and perform several other security checks. After the ports are found, it uses the tool from @verovaleros, to spider the complete web page of all the web ports found. This tool has the option to download files and find open folders."

I've been spending time listening to the stories of various people I meet. I find myself consistently observing humanity whenever I'm out of the house these days.
I feel like I'm collecting dots that I might be able to connect one day.

Different take on resolutions:

Don't wait for a new year to make a change you want to see. Change yourself now if you want to make an improvement. Go for incremental improvements that add up, no need to do all the things in a major version update.

I don't do resolutions because I don't need a calendar day to make an excuse to get off my butt and improve something.

No one needs to starve. No one needs to freeze. No one needs to die. There is enough for everyone. More empty homes than all the people without them, more food than grocers can even sell. The labor and the materials to end scarcity exist now. It is not a far-off dream. We can end scarcity in this life.

Here's a wild prediction (because predicting incorrectly is kind of how predictions work) - by the end of the next decade, "Without Machine Learning" will be the "Organic" of computing and will be regarded in some areas of application as a sign of quality and trusty software.

Hey guys. I am thinking of starting a series on medium regarding how many govt policies sold as good measures actually turn indians into collateral damage.

It will consist of policies for agri, education, the recent citizenship debate, extreme police violence, adhar etc.

Thinking of researching well before writing it. Don't have time right now. Will start after feb 2.

Can anyone help?

Please boost.

My resolution for this year is to read more. Fellow tooters, please recommend books for me to read. I'm going to keep an open mind about genre right now (though sci fi, romance and chick lit are very low down on my list). I'll see how many I can read, and ping you back once I finish.
Going to start with Quichotte and White Teeth, both of which did not deserve to be left unfinished

The Indian Civil Liberties Union
( @ICLU ), a network of lawyers, activists, paralegals and students across India have come together to reach out, and provide free legal aid to Indian citizens, especially the poor, marginalised, and migrant labourers whose citizenship is threatened by the NRC and CAA. They have also been providing legal literature to citizens.

Together with the Proton community, we have given away more than €100,000 for important causes that align with our mission of building a better world. Learn more about the causes we supported this year:

so uh certbot has a bunch of DNS plugins merged into the core repo (google, digitalocean, linode, ovh, ...) but won't accept new ones ( and apparently won't remove the existing ones either? I guess it's just because these companies are the ones sponsoring Let's Encrypt?

that sounds a lot like a conflict of interest/anti-competitive advantage to me? hmm
