If people here were successful in changing the world away from capitalism to something else, would the fediverse be full of people moaning about the unfairness that New system and longing for capitalism?
@jerry "something else" not being invented yet?
@jerry If people here were successful in changing the world away from communism to something else, would the fediverse be full of people moaning about the unfairness that New system and longing for communism?
@jerry dunno, feudalism had some good sides tho
Probably so. Whatever system people feel is bringing them down is the one to attack. Surveillant systems that impact people's lives are always fair game. The authoritarian elements are more worrisome, but those are usually forgiven if they correspond with the ideology of the complaintant.
Which turns out to be a long-winded way to say that whiners will whine .
@jerry I mean, people aren't largely pining for a return to feudal states, so I doubt people would be longing for the return of capitalism specifically
But since humans are unlikely to develop a perfect system, yes there will always be people who suffer in some way under a given system and believe a different one will serve them better. And when that goes well, we get progress
Of course they would. Humans are not capable of a better system. Capitalism is the best we can muster and it works well.
