give people you care about books you care about, as often as you can.

@jerry @djsundog there are still DRM-free stuff around, and authors who specifically request Amazon et al for their e-books to be DRM-free.

So, if you want to, you can... ;)

Technically it's not the same as giving a book, but then again so is not reading an e-book.

@eloisa @djsundog true. For a while, I was buying books from Nostarch, who is DRM free. But I found it to be far (far) more economical to have a subscription to Safari. Basically any tech book I want for ~$250/year. Downside is that they go away when I cancel my subscription

@jerry @djsundog yeah, that's a big nope for me. With that money I can buy myself a couple of months of physio. Which I need more than books. 😔
