Today at I was doing a CTF (hosted by @lisihocke ) again for the first time in ages. I had forgotten how much fun it is! However, we did have a discussion about how realistic these hacker challenges are and if you actually learn something relevant (for your day to day job) out of it. Then I remembered a project some former colleagues of mine (@commjoenie & Ben de Haan) are working on: owasp.org/www-project-wrongsec
It’s a bunch of CTFs on finding secrets in modern stacks like ENV variables, docker history, cloud config, etc.
So if you’re looking for something that is 1) fun to do as a team and 2) gives immediate applicable lessons, take a look at the project!
